Here are the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) we receive during our initial meetings:

Q. Who is Veracity’s typical client?

A. Veracity has clients in four primary areas:

  • Healthcare software companies between $30M and $600M in revenue
  • Software companies in energy/oil/gas, education, finance and other verticals with revenue between $30M and $600M
  • Tech-enabled companies who develop proprietary software as a competitive advantage. These companies are normally at least $20M in annual revenue.
  • Startup software companies that are serious enough about your business to invest cash as well as equity in building your software. While Veracity does accept some equity stakes, we have found that those organizations that put “real money” on the line are more focused, more committed, and better positioned for success.

Q. What types of clients have you worked with?

A. The majority of our clients are healthcare software. Healthcare’s stringent requirements make it easier for us to be successful in other industries as well. Veracity also has software clients in education, finance, and energy/oil/gas. Additionally, we serve tech-enabled companies that develop custom software for their business to use internally, as a competitive advantage.

Q. What type of healthcare software projects have you worked on?

A. In healthcare, Veracity has been involved in software that is used by 1/3rd of all physicians, 70% of all hospitals, and over 13,000 pharmacies in the U.S. This is in areas of:

  • EHR/PM
  • Population health
  • Analytics
  • Interoperability
  • Mobile health
  • Decision support
  • Clinical documentation
  • Workflow

In other vertical industries, we have worked on both software products that are sold for revenue, as well as software that is used internally to save cost, increase efficiency and provide competitive advantage.

Q. How do you price your services?

A. Pricing is created on a project basis or a retainer schedule. Since the resource needs of each company are different, pricing for each project is customized and presented in the SOW. In general, the initial cost for Veracity’s expert resources is higher than hiring a traditional employee, however the benefits include a faster time to learning ramp-up, faster time to software delivery. Other benefits include the flexibility to contract for a part-time or short-term commitment, all of which easily offset the costs. Pricing is typically based on hourly time and expenses, weekly or monthly retainers, or fixed project bids.

Q. How long is a typical engagement with Veracity?

A. Most engagements last from six months to two years. In many cases, once Veracity has been included on a project, there are other project needs that arise where Veracity’s experts are deployed. It is not unusual for Veracity to work on multiple projects and multiple teams for many years.

Q. What is Blendsourcing™?

A. Blendsourcing™ is the term Veracity coined for integrating and lifting client teams. Instead of outsourcing a project completely, or hiring an internal team for a critical project that you may end up not needing later on, Blendsourcing™ allows you to integrate Veracity’s expert resources into your team, to lift with best practices and processes, and then when the Veracity team members leave, you are left with improved team performance.

Q. What differentiates Veracity from your competitors?

A. Our people and processes. Veracity has a robust recruiting process that filters for software development and leadership skills (IQ), as well as emotional intelligence (EQ) skills, and the commitment to get things done (PQ). We train our community members to provide excellent experience to deliver better software every time.

Q. What is your typical process for working with a new client?

A. An engagement process with Veracity usually follows these steps:

  • Exploratory discussion to identify areas of need, and determine if there is a mutually beneficial relationship
  • Technical discussion– Sometimes, this is paired with the exploratory discussion. This is where we get into the technical details of what you have and what you are looking for.
  • Qualification call– This is where we identify all of the resources that you may need for your project. Prior to this call, we may provide you with resumes for consideration.
  • Documentation–This is the final step before engagement, where we document the relationship by completing a Master Service Agreement (MSA) for the relationship and a Statement of Work (SOW) for the specific project. In these documents, we outline the relationship parameters, as well as  project, resources, costs, timeline and associated dependencies.

Q. What things should I take into consideration before engaging with Veracity?

A. If you are unsure about your product, your strategy or direction, or how many people you will need or the types of expertise required, Veracity is happy to help you with a free assessment. There is no commitment, and the process will help you clarify key requirements to get your project completed successfully.

Q. What lead time is typically needed for different types of engagements before it can start?

A. Depending on the skillset and volume of the project, we can get started in 2-4 weeks.

Q. What frameworks and methodologies do you use in your consulting practices

A. Veracity’s primary software focus is in .NET, Java, Angular, Node for cloud, mobile and desktop. The primary methodology that we use is Agile, though we are versed in most methodologies that are widely accepted.

Q. Do you offer certifications?

A. Veracity Solutions works with several well-respected training partners who are considered experts in their specific fields, to offer highly regarded certifications in Product Management, Agile, Scrum, SaFe, and other specialties, according to your needs.
